Not sure how to load the MIDI file? Here's exactly how:

Double-clicking (or tapping) the file will not open it — that's normal, not a defect. Instead, open your DAW first, then drag the MIDI file directly into it, as shown below:

Having trouble opening files?

The file is only 11.8 MB — very lightweight, so it normally downloads in seconds. That said, on rare occasions a network glitch during download can leave you with an incomplete file that won't open (this can happen with any file, zipped or not — and ours aren't zipped, so at least you won't run into zip-extraction errors on top of it). If this happens, please just try downloading the file again.

Your software can't load the .midi file?

Simply rename the file extension from .midi to .mid, then try loading it again.

Renaming a MIDI file extension from .midi to .mid Two panels show a file named chords.midi with the .midi extension circled in red as the problem, a green arrow labeled rename extension, and a second panel showing chords.mid with the .mid extension circled in green as the fix. A banner below explains to rename the extension if the software cannot load the file. Rename extension Original file MIDI chords.midi Renamed file MIDI chords.mid If your software can't load the .midi file, rename the extension to .mid and try again.
